Anyone ever use their services for one or two items ? I've asked around but can't find a good machinist in my area.

Lot's of good machinists right here. Personally, I would never use a site like the one OP mentioned.

I have gotten several small projects made, and am very happy with their service.  You have to do your part and get the plans right, but you never have to worry about them turning you away because you have a small, complicated job.  They also don't try to gouge you on the price because they don't really want the work.  I had a local shop try to charge me $45 to thread a piece of aluminum rod that held togeather a tripod head.  I got on Emachine and with 10minutes work, I had my part made from scratch and it arrived in a week and a half, For $10 including shipping.

I see you are from Loooosiaaaannna, how about asking those dudes from TV to help... You know the ones with the marginally hot daughter and the flamethrower...
