Anyone ever chamber and eject a round to find a fairly deep gouge in the bullet jacket?
It seems as if it's happening as the bullet feeds up the ramp right at the top on the inside lug where the ramps are cut into the barrel extension.
Looking at the bullet, the gouge starts square and runs down toward the shoulder of the case twisting CCW.
I'm not sure if I should just try to take the edge off or if something else is wrong with it.
I've only looked at it for a few minutes and will investigate further but thought I'd see if any of you had any helpful insight.

Thanks in advance,
D

Mine does scratch the jacket a little bit I'm assuming its from the feed ramp I planned on shooting a few mags through it and then checking it again to see if it just needs wore down a little and get everything broken in.

thanks for your input.
I thought about that but then as deep as these are, thought it would take many copper jacketed rounds to wear the edges off steel ramps.
Also didn't think a match barrel should be doing that out of the box....

You can also smooth out the bottom barrel lugs by wrapping a 1/4" dowl or such with sandpaper and smoothing out the sharp edges.

Don't worry about weakening the lugs by doing this.  The outside corners of the lugs contribute almost nothing to the strengh of the locking lugs, and you woudl be shocked to see how much barrel extension is cut away for the big bores.
