Alright, I took my grand fathers old .22 remington sportsmaster 512 in to have an old scope remounted on the rifle. We lost the original screws so he had to make new ones.
Now, when I took it in, the bolt assembly was BUTTER smooth, like a teflon pan... well I picked up the gun and " Shame on me for trusting him too much and not looking at the gun carefully." However, Took the gun to the range today and the mount was solid, it was not moving anywhere thats for sure. Then I noticed a little lock- Tite- around the screws. But that was alright with me, but then i noticed the bolt assembly would not even close , and on top of that he mounted the scope CROOKED!!!!! So I am livid, anyhow the range master notices me a little disappointed, and comes over takes a look and takes it to the gun smith. He had to clean out some lock tite that actually ended up in the chamber area... Well he was nice enough to take care of that for free for me, although not butter like it had been but it functioned. So after about 150 or 200 rounds in the .22 the really nice guy next to me, and myself got the crooked mounted scope sighted in decently at about 50 yards. Oh, at first, It started out shooting high left about 8 inches from center. We got it to all center orange 4'' circle by the end of the session. But either way just sad to have them do the work, and basically hope I didnt look close just to get me out the door. Oh the name of this place was AJI in Apache Junction arizona. |
