Well I have had alot of guys tell me if I am going to build a sporter on a mosin nagant receiver I am going to need to find a good receiver... what constitutes a "good" receiver? I found this website http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinReceiver.htm   It shows the differences but it doesn't say what is better for accuracy or if they are just different and that is all. I would appreciate yalls help on the situation I cant figure out if the receiver I have will be good to go.

Metallurgy aside, I'd say not only meeting the tolerances but being as close to the true dimensions as possible.

My personal opinion of the Nasty nagants is that the Hex receivers are more better.

My reasoning is that the round receivers were wartime production and the hex receiver's were pre-war production. Stuff made in a hurry generally isn't that great, probably more so comming from russia

This is just my opinion, nothing hard to base it on
