Getting stovepipes and other failures to feed. No problems with ejection. PSA lower and PSA 7.5" upper, KAC shockwave buffertube, no brace, 9mm buffer and NFA spacer.
First trip to the range I slow fired the first half of the mag with no problems. When trying to shoot the second half fast, had lots of feeding failures. On the next mag had a lot of feeding failures whether I shot fast or slow. Same for the rest of the hundred round box. I separated the upper and lower and noticed when I insert a loaded mag, the top round gets caught by the extended bolt stop and pops up/out. I think this might be my problem. Has anyone had to file a little off of the bolt stop to keep it from hitting the back of the cartridges? Why didn't it happen at first? I only have on magazine, a metalform from Brownells. Should I wait and try more magazines? |

Sounds like you have a good set of parts. I have the same lower, and had to take a dremel to the last 1/16th of the ejector so it would not cause a hangup on the loaded rounds. Sounds like a similar fix is needed on your bolt stop. Sounds like you were troubleshooting it the right way, I did the same exercise to find out what was causing my jams.
I use 20 round ASC mags mostly, because I like the shorter size of the mag, but most have needed a bit of touch up to feed reliably. The best accessory to have with the colt 9mm's is the maglula loader (for colt smg). You won't believe how much easier it at the range. |
