[ARCHIVED THREAD] - AR 9mm

I have a Shorty AR9, 10.5" with a 5.5oz buffer and it runs fine.

I want to build a 2nd upper, I have a barrel, spikes 8.5oz ss buffer, and CMMG ramped bolt.

Do I need to order a 9mm upper? Or can I run a standard A2 upper?

Mine is a standard A4 upper. Don't even use the 9mm deflector or dust cover...

You can use any upper you want. I have 3 9mm uppers and none of them utilize 9mm uppers. One of them is even an A1 upper.

Any standard upper will work, A2, A3, A4. For semi auto right hand shooting, a gas deflector will not be needed.
