| I'm really wanting a pistol caliber carbine. Truth be told, I'd prefer a .40, but not too many of em out there. The MP-5 clones keep changing names, companies, and prices seem to be going up. I'd eventually want to SBR the durn thing. I've been looking at the Colt 6450. Is it reliable out of the box, or di I need to tweek it? Are reliable mags available? Cheap? |
| As long As you use the oem colt mags, they run fantastic. I only had trouble with mine, if I tried to use the plastic pro-mags. Very fun gun, not really good for anything, but fun. I used mine for a 3 gun carbine for a while, until they started using the 200 yard range for matches. |

After putting over 600 rounds thru mine using the original Colt mags and CProducts mags I have not had a single FTF/FTE. This is one of the most fun guns I own, no recoil to speak of, has a lot of sex appeal and the Colt quality. My neice who weighs maybe 90 pounds handles it like a pro.
I fired several differnt kinds of ammo thru it, Win WB, S&B and my 124g handloads, it just runs like a top. I really could not be happier. With cash and a trade gun i got this for about $850 NIB. I thought a first I would have trouble with the stubby little cartridge, but from the first round I was impressed. RD |
