Does anyone have any experience with Browning's BLR 81 takedown? pros/cons?  Thanks

I've never had a take-down model but own and have owned a few standard ones.  VERY nice looking guns, fairly accurate for a two-piece stock, short throw, modern calibers.  BLR's are NOT user friendly as far as disassembly goes.

I have the BLR Takedown chambered in .358 Win.

An accurate magazine-fed takedown lever-action in a VERY reloadable and flexible cartridge that can be loaded mild, or to hit pretty hard inside of 200 yards?  What's not to love?

The only thing I don't like is the gloss poly finish.  Yeah, it's very weather-resistant, but it makes the gun look 'plasticky.'  I'm debating whether to strip it and refinish it with Tung Oil.

I haven't tried to disassemble the action yet.  It is very smooth.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics...

I have wanted a stainless takedown for awhile now just for a pack in rifle. Haven't heard a lot of feedback on them though

Thanks for the replies...helping out a friend who needs cash, guess I'm going to be the proud new owner of a BLR (blued) in 30-06....told him I'd hold it for six months in case he changes his mind

I have a Browning's BLR 81 takedown in 22-250 its a nice rifle. Once i sighted it in I didn't take the barrel off, so I'm not sure of the repeat zero on it. I did shoot a coyote this year with the BLR @ 160 yards.

Great gun in all respects with one exception....the damn thing doesn't come with a means to attach a sling.
