So, if I'm reading this forum correctly, Marlin is on a hiatus, Colt is pretty much gone, Rossi's are lacking in quality ontrol,... which rifle make does one buy?
Do you just hold off purchasing until Marlin gets their act together again? Do you buy a used rifle? 30-30 WInchester 1894 Do you get a Shiloh Sharps in 45-90, instead? Shiloh Sharps in 45-90 |

id get a marlin, you can find older ones in good condition for a good price right now, because people think that they arent that good at the moment so all the prices drop..past and present...picked my marlin 336 up for $300 practically new and my 1895GS for $500 never been shot..... |

Shiloh Sharps in 45-90 I don't think that you are reading this forum correctly. First off, all the levers are a bit different. Second, Rossis are not lacking in quality, in fact they are the preferred gun in CASS. The typical used deer hunting lever has been shot 100 times. The typical CASS lever has been shot more like 5000 times. Marlin just moved. Their CT service center closes tommorow. Production has started again in NY. Buy what you want, it is never a problem finding used levers that are like new. In fact, used levers tend to be smoother than new ones. |
