Safe dial/lock mechanism and code Should I replace the lock with a new SG dial or have the current one refurbished/cleaned and lubed and code changed? Either way code will be changed (just keeping cheapie stuff in it now) |

Just jumping into your project - doing great! Will a new digital or tumbler lock fit/work? If so, do that IMO. Thought about a mini sand blaster for the handles and center piece? Vibratory or rotary tumbler with abrasives? Then prime/paint? |

I have found for around 50 buck new safe handles on eBay and other sights chrome and gold if you want some bling. |

The time has come This project is now over Safe guy came and changed combo. Also spruced up the locking mechanism. Said despite its age the dial/lock didn't have much crud in there, he was surprised a bit The safety preventing the safe to be closed with bolts out was broken/not working right So I had him disable it $210 to change combo and clean it up, well well worth it!!! |
