Should I fo or say no?

I figure my collection is worth around $10k

Is it half again or double the fit of your collection now? Your collection may (probably will) increase and you will discover other valuable items that you will want to store there.

Buy a safe that's bigger than your current collection.  I bought a Fatboy, and it's already full.  Now granted, I'm only using half of it to store long guns, I have the shelves in the other half.

Still had to buy another safe a few years later.

I currently have 6 long guns and 4 handguns

Probably buying a lot more safe than I need.

Does that price include bolting it down?  The Fatboy Jr needs to be bolted as it is front heavy with the door open.

That does not include bolting it down.

Prices to vary to some extent across the country, and I do not know the specifics of your particular situation.  That said, the delivery seems to be a bit on the high side, especially if it does not include bolting.  If you're a substantial distance from the store, or your delivery is more difficult that usual, that may explain it.

I had about 6 guns (4 were handguns) before i got my first safe (fat boy jr).  At the time, it was perfect.  Over time ive filled it up and am now looking for a bigger safe (or another fat boy).

EDIT:  that being said, i paid $900 OTD at cabelas on either their black friday sale.

Seems high. I paid less than $800 for my Fatboy Jr but it was a black Friday deal.  I'm happy with the safe though it's my medium sized safe now

Damn I wish I could get that kind of deal. I'm 41 miles from the dealer. I just don't know how the hell to get a 715 pound safe into my basement without killing myself.

It would be cheaper from cabela's but I'd still have to pay their 250 delivery fee and that still wouldn't get it into my basement.

Bought mine late last year on the promo they had.  $350 bolted down in basement downstairs.  Well worth the money.  All included it was maybe $1800 for Fatboy Jr.  Go for it!!

I scored a killer deal at Cabalas on this safe, used one of their "employee pricing" coupons. As for moving it... 3 dudes and a dolly should be able to do it, but it will hurt. When it comes time to bolt it... I'd caution you to NOT use the bolts that come in the safe. They are cheaper wedge type anchors, and 2 of mine broke while tightening them, which means I now have two broken studs sticking out of my floor that will need to be addressed at some point. Thankfully, I was able to get the other two good and tight. If I could do it again, I'd use a higher grade concrete anchor system.

Seems high priced. I inherited a Fatboy Jr. from my grandma and she paid ~1200 for it two years ago plus $250 delivery.

I have a Fatboy Jr and love it! The only thing I would suggest is to get the mechanical lock vs the Elock. To me the hassle of changing batterys and the cheap look of it was enough to get the mechanical.

A1 locksmith is our local dealer and they are running them for $1200 ish.

I got mine about a month ago for $1100 due to a price match with Cabelas

Good luck and if you get one you will love it
