I have a Liberty Centurion 18-Gun Safe. I like the safe a lot but I can rarely get in it. I am dialing the combination as the instructions require (same as my other safe) but it only unlocks maybe 10% of the time.

Everything feels fine but the dial doesn’t stop at the end of the last pass.

Only after trying multiple times and wiggling the handle between tries can I actually get the thing open.

Anybody know the cause and fix?

Call liberty I think the tumblers are designed to break apart to prevent drilling.

Liberty supposed to have a hell of a guarantee...call them, get it fixed, just tell them it's been an ongoing and worsening issue.
they're probably send a smithy out to the house to check it out..at least I would think so. They LOVE their safes..

...and in addition to "call Liberty", I'd also say, don't lock the door again until this is resolved.

Just to follow up. I called Liberty and they said that the combination had probably changed due to vibration while shipping. Probably because I moved it on it's side. They said to lower each of the combination numbers by one and try it. So, for example, 40 - 4 - 80 would become 39-3-79.

I tried it and it works fine with the altered combination.

Seems strange to me but it works now and I guess that's the way safes are?
