If you are buying your homeowners policy will provide a small amount of coverage automatically. Your agent can up that coverage as you need for additional premium, usually very inexpensive.
If you are renting you can add coverage to your renters policy in the same manner. Those are the routes I recommend. There are also stand alone companies but getting claims paid can be more difficult from my experience. |

Look at collectinsure, there have been a lot of threads discussing the issue and this is one of the better options.
You can establish your policy with a CC, the rates are good, you do not have to provide a list or serial #'s to them in advance or after the policy is issued. |
