I finally closed on a house about a half year ago and now I'm in the market for a safe. I have a sizable collection and around $4-5k or so to spend, but can increase the budget if needed.

Is it better to go with two medium sized safes in liue of one large one?  I live fairly close to a fire station but think I would like a fire rated safe just to be safe. The safe would be in my basement.

Any recommendations or help would be great. I was looking at a AmSec BF7250 but it's pushing the budget a little bit.

I have 2 safes and I would rather have only one.  Buy once cry once.  Buy the largest quality safe you can afford.  Congrats on the new house!

Where are you located in PA? If you're close to Philly, Pittsburg, Harrisburg, etc, look on Craigslist, I bet you can find a TL Safe for much cheaper than you're looking to spend. I live in a smaller area, but I got really lucky and got a TL30 safe off of CL. In total, even after rigging (due to my property set up I needed a rigger, it would've been about 1/3 the price if my property wasn't complicated) I paid about half the price for my real safe, installed, as I would've paid for a Sturdy of the same size, to my curb.

I can suggest the rigging company I used, they were AWESOME, and inexpensive compared to other rigging companies in my area.

I'm in the Pittsburgh area. I've looked on CL but haven't been able to find any TL30 rated safes in the last month or so.

Send me a PM if the rigging company is near Pittsburgh.  Thanks for help.
