I am looking at a SafeGuard GS41 safe. Seems to be a good safe for the money ~$1300
Anybody have one? Anything comparable for the money. Was looking at the Fatboy Jr, but this looks better and a few dollars less Thanks for any input. |

Check out TSP, they have a Cannon, for almost half that price, that is likely the exact same safe with a different name. The only thing that safe offers that the Cannon doesn't, is a mechanical dial lock. Those are cheap and easy to find on eBay, and pretty simple to replace yourself.
Unless you're buying a real safe (not an RSC) or possibly a Sturdy (a good RSC, but not TL rated) all the cheaper units will be pretty much the same; Sheetrock wrapped in very thin sheet metal. |

I have the GX-45. I paid around $2100 delivered into a basement and installed. I really like it. The lock is good, the door seems good, and the space is exactly what I needed.
Plus side - US made steel. Downside - the steel is shipped to Mexico for assembly into a safe.For my needs it fit the bill and balances between security, capacity, and cost. |
