| What are your guys' thoughts on it. From what I can find it's very similar to Liberty Lincoln 50 only much cheaper. Am I missing anything? |

It's only 11 gauge on the body, so it's probably not going to offer much in the way of actual security. Depends on your budget and intended use. If it's just to keep kids out it's probably fine That's all the liberty is as well and it's 3500 bucks. I also hear everyone raving about liberty. |

Frankly after looking at the way Champion places reinforcement casings on the door jamb interior it would be better at pry resistance.
Also Champion claims it has two full layers of door steel and the Liberty does not. Try also looking at Superior safes as they are made by Champion but have a far superior plate steel door instead of the built up refrigerator door of Champion or Liberty and outside hinges which give you a true 180 degree door opening. My opinion is if those are the only two gun safes you are interested in I would personally go with the Champion. |

I think I might trade him a few guns I never shoot anymore for one. I'm sure there are better safes out there, I just don't have a ton of money. I guess I've always heard people talk about liberty safes being so good and then when I started comparing specs on them I noticed you paid about 1k more for the Liberty safes. It's funny because they are both made in Utah about 15-20 minutes apart. I wonder if they did business together at one point. |

I have heard many times is the people who started Champion were once affiliated with Liberty. I still think by what my own eyes can see is that the Champion's premium grade safes are a bit better than Liberty's. |

My buddy has a Champion Collectors series -- I think it has a 12ga body with a 3/8" plate door. Hinges are also external so it opens 180 degrees.
Another friend has a similar sized one from costco, the bighorn that goes on sale for $600ish once in a while. The similar sized champion is a bit larger, and exterior finish, quality, and bolt work seems nicer than the big horn (4 way active on the champion, 3 way on the bighorn), but the big horn has a slightly nicer interior than the champion (though the champion is laid out slightly better). |
