Who's got one?
How are you liking it? I'm about thrown down and get a safe because the little one isnt so little anymore, also I would like to protect my assets. The wife said the get a safe big enought to fitt all the guns I will ever have.nthis was when I had a rifle and a handgun. I have since added a couple more rifles, but I am still planning on future purchases. I was looking at liberty safes and I like the Fat Boy. It's seems large enought to hold a small armory, and it seems pretty secure And the weight is decent, where t2 guys would have a hell of a time walking away with it. Thoughts? |

We recently picked one up... So far so good. My only complaint is that the accessory panel on the inside of the door does not have any elastic magazine holders. It does have 3 zippered pockets, 2 "cool doc" lined document pouches and lots of pistol holsters though, just no handy place to keep mags well organized in plain sight.
I like the width of the safe so I can keep my "go-to" rifles lined up across the front without having to dig them out from the back. I can keep the "antiques" in the back and not have to handle them getting the others out.... The installed electrical outlet is nice for plugging in a Golden Rod or similar dehumidifier. We went with the electric lock because I feel more comfortable knowing that my fiancé can quickly access anything in the safe (even in low light conditions) It definitely gets my thumbs except for its few shortcomings... |

I've got one. Love it. Mine only has one "cool" document holder but it has elastic magazine holders.
Only problem is storing really long rifles. You can fit maybe 4-8 comfortably because of the cutouts in the top shelf, but they have to be in there a certain way. So for long barreled shotguns and mosin nagants your stuck with only certain places. If and when I fill it up I'll get another safe that's taller for the long rifles. Pay a safe mover to move it for you! |

I wanted to get a GARAND someday, maybe I should look into the height. I guess I could turn the rifle diagonal. Not ideal, but something to consider. |
| i was wanting a fatboy jr when i was safe shopping, i love the size, price, and they are nice looking but i wanted more security. I ended up getting a 36x27 sturdy without fire lining for $1700 shipped. I had a $500 sentry safe burglarized before and it was very easy to pry open, one guy with a crowbar got into it while it was bolted down. The liberty is more secure but I still think it would be pryable and I didnt want to lose my guns again. I thought my sentry was decent and I was amazed how easy it was to pry, i was so pissed that I wasted $500 for nothing on the sentry when I could have just put my guns in the closet for free or just hide them around the house that way they werent all in one place that was an easy target. So my suggestion is either spend the $ for good security or just get a locker to keep the kids out. After being robbed the middle of line stuff doesn't make sense to me anymore. |

I agree that a safe is something that should be splurged on, but I just couldn't in this case.
Fortunately, there are other defenses around the safe itself. 
When the time comes that I can afford a real safe, this one will be relegated to holding ammo or something less critical, but still valuable. |

Managed to get it on a large hand truck, then rolled it over rough terrain with the help of a friend.
Then a neighbor came to help when it pitched on its side due to the terrain. 
Finally got it in. PHEW! 700 pounds is a bitch to move! I'll go professional movers next time!

C'mon you could get 48 pistols in there.  I do like mine quite a bit and my m39 does barely fit up front due to its length. I know I'm screwed if tweakers with cement saws break in while I'm not home and rip it out of my basement but really for the cash dropped, I've been recommending it to my friends.

I think if you go with one of the Fatboy's and have any longer guns just plan on not using the top shelf and you will be fine. Grove |

I love mine, but I have no idea how I'd get their max number of long guns in there - especially if any of them are scoped. It would be a VERY tight fit - especially if you're in and out of it much.
Important documents go in a document fire box and sit at the bottom of the safe, pistols hang on the door, wedding albums inside... It's great! |
