While I am currently on the road, I wanted to get this thread started.

I picked up a Mosler TL-30 for a great deal locally and had it set in my garage. I will be putting a couple of holes in the bottom to bolt it down, even though at 3000lbs it is less likely to be stolen whole.

It stands 48" high, 40" wide, and 32" deep. This means it is tall enough for all of my firearms except two.

My current plans are as follows:

- 2x Sliding racks along the two outside edges for long guns - Some kind of stained hardwood
- Center section of drawers and shelves - Due to the depth, I am working on designing a system that allows for the front shelves to slide/swing out and then allow access to a second set of shelves - Some kind of stained hardwood
- Mirror on the back wall.
- LED Lighting - Probably the 7 color LED strips that IKEA has for cheap. (May build my own... we'll see)
- Potentially carpeted panels on the bottom, top, inside the door, and behind the sliding racks.
- Outside will be painted, either similar white color, or Rustoleum Enamel in dark Red, or dark Grayish.

Anyway - on to the pictures (only two for now):

Updates to follow as I get rolling on it.

Nice real safe.

It looks like you've got door contacts for a security system.  You might want to add vibration and thermal - it wouldn't cost much.
Anchor it to the floor - even though you probably don't need to.
Add a heater inside to raise the dew point above that of the garage.

Don't have a home security system, so I will probably remove the door sensor. Garage is inside several layers of defense, so I am not too worried about it.

I do intend to anchor it, just need to get it done.

Thinking about a heater, just need to figure out how I want too. All though, in CO do I need to do that? It is quite low humidity normally.

Thanks for the advice.

If you're removing the alarm cable, you could use the hole for a lamp cord to get power inside without drilling a new hole.
For safety, consider using a gfci protected supply.
I'd still add a some heat.  It easy insurance against condensation.  If sized right, you'll feel the warmth in your guns when you remove them.  Install a fast blow low amp fuse in series if you're worried about hot shorts.

You gonna love that safe - especially once you anchor it.  Once anchored, it will feel rock solid.  With a 1.5 inch thick steel door, you'll even feel floor vibes when you close it!
