There are a couple of used safes available in my area. I am possibly interested in making an offer on them, but have no way to move them. Can anyone suggest the best way to go about having these moved? Can I just call a moving company, or do I need special safe movers? If I need a safe mover, how do I find one?

| It depends on how much the safe weighs. A 500# safe can be moved by most any moving company. If on the other hand the safe weighs 1500# you need to contact a safe company or someone who is equipped to handle that weight. I'd call companies in your area that sell safes, most will do a local move for around $300. |
| How much does the safe weigh? A rental U-Hual and a few friends should be enough to move any commerical safe. A HD dolly will help if it's less than 800 lbs. I moved my 1200lb safe with pipes and used a dolly to slide it up the ramp onto a U-Haul. It's easier than you think. |

We moved my 1400 pound unit with 3 other guys, 2 sheets of plywood, a rented pallet jack, and four 2' pieces of 5" PVC pipe. This was from my garage, around my house, through the gate, in my basement door, and into it's anchored position. The only time it was off the jack was going through the basement door. If my yard had been level, I think myself and one big guy could have done it.
I moved my father's 500 pound unit out of his basement and onto a moving truck with an appliance dolly, cum-along, sheet of plywood, and one other guy. As long as no one gets in a hurry, they are not that hard to move. |

My 1300 pound Am Sec Safe was moved on a 4 wheel furniture dolly. The movers could lean it enough to get the dolly under it. After that is was just man power to push it along. They loaded it with 3 guys from the porch on a ramp to the truck. Moving in into my new place they used 4 guys and an HD appliance dolly, to get it into the house then back on the 4 wheel dolly to get it in place.
As for the cost I don't know, my Company paid for me to move. MAHA |

Quoted: Then you move it. Quoted: I'd call companies in your area that sell safes, most will do a local move for around $300. Sheesh I've called around in my area. I am getting prices at around $500 to $600. The safe is 1500lb but that still seems like a lot of money. |

Take the inside panel off of the door and look. Your relockers can be secured or removed for transport. |
