I am needing some help on deciding which RSC to buy,  they are both Cannon Safes different models but same price and I am looking to get the most gun capacity I can. It seems like the only differences are that the CA33 has a higher fire rating and 5 spoke handle instead of 3 spoke on the scout series.  What else might I be overlooking, this is my first RSC purchase.

Cannon Series CA33:

Weight: 730 lbs
Dimensions: 60"x40"x24" (HxWxD)
Gun Capacity: 36
Fire Rating: 1200 F for 60 Min

Scout Series 40:

Weight:615 lbs
Dimensions:60"x40"x29" (HxWxD)
Gun Capacity: 64
Fire Rating: 1200 F for 30 Min

Also I want to stay in the Cannon Safes, so if you have any other safe recommendations please keep them within the Cannon line.

Thanks

If I wasnt susposed to get a decent discount on the safe, Cannon would be out.  Sounds like a lot of the problems come from the electronic locks which I didnt want and planned to get a tumbler anyway.

What would you do, Im on a budget, can get a discount on a Cannon Safe. If you still wouldnt get a Cannon what would you go with?

What is your budget? Can you wait and save up for something better?

I think he said that I could get the RSC's $200 off what he was selling them for, and I think he is $250 off retail prices.  So I am just thinking that if my budget is around 1000 and am able to get a rsc thats normally 1400, should I not take advantage of it?

depends on what it is. You got the right idea though. You have to watch certain manufacturers because of quality, warranty coverage, and manufacturing practices.

So in my case what would you go with, go for the higher end cannon thats susposed to be made in US plant with 60 min of fire w/ lower gun capacity or go with the lower end w/ lower fire rating w/ higher gun capacity.  Idealy I would want to buy a cannon b/c of the deal then when I build a house 1-2 years just do a vault room or just sell the cannon and buy a currently out of my price range AMSEC BF or similar.

I wouldn't buy the cannon or the amsec either. If you got to pick one of the cannons now, go with the US made one.

Thanks for all the input,  what do you consider the best affordable safe?
