I think what Snop, was getting at if thats all you can afford, and I mean not want to spend but really can afford.  Its better than nothing at all, but not by much.  They are cheaply constructed from thin Chinese steel that can be breached in a few minutes with minimal force with common tools.  You could expect that it will keep the kids out and your typical smash and grab as fast as you can thief out,  but if they figure they have some time then its going to fail relatively quickly.  Hope this helps.

A dakota is about the most security for that dollar range.

Sorry I didn't elaborate, I thought you were just asking if you should buy it or not.

What do you think of liberty safes?

Depends some of the liberty's are made in China Crap so you need to be carefull on what model your looking at.  Another one you could look at

If your looking for the best bang for your buck check out the big horn by Bighorn Safes by Rhino  Your going to get a much nicer safe better fire rating and closer to a real safe than the cheap POS stack ons and sentry's,  Also if you contact rhino about your order before your order you can get a dial instead of the e-lock as well.  Its made in China also but its 10 gauge steel compared to 11 or 12 or 13 on some of the other safes out there.    Not sure what your max budget is?
