How do I raise the Humidity level?

My new safe seems to have settled @ 41-42% humidity and I'm not using a dehumidified or desiccant. I've read that levels lower than 45% can cause wood can dry out and crack. I'm trying to maintain 45-55%

Hell my house is at 40-43% normally this time of year, probably lower at times, and my stocks haven't cracked.

+1 I would think it would be the transition from high to low that would cause them to crack. If you're in a drier climate, that humidity will be fine.

good point it may be extreme changes from high to low/low to high that cause cracking.

I also come to realize I really doubt I go for extended periods of time without opening the safe.

I'm still curious how you would go about raising the humidity level if necessary though

Whole house or proximity (room) is what I have seen but there may be something available.  Look into something dealing with humidors/cigars.

would wood oil help the stocks?

I keep my gunsafe really dry with the eva packs.  I am more concern with rust then anything else.
