I have the rattler LT, so the 6.75" length because I failed to save up for the 5.5 before the LT dropped. I have been super happy with mine so far though. |

Does that muzzle device leak or blow a lot gas backwards not having the taper ring spacer thingy? |

| I just bought a spear lt 16" from a buddy and read up on the deflection issues. I re torqued everything down today and tested it and it seems that this one has the issue I read about. Is this something thats been fixed in newer models and is worth contacting sig about? |

My experience has been that this isn't really an issue if everything is tightened down. What torque specs are you using and are you trying to purposely "bend/deflect" the rail and the barrel because you can "do" that but it's incredibly bad on the barrel clamp/receiver to forcibly do it. I don't even run the rail screws anymore and I took my ZRC off. |

Hell, you could drop a Legacy/Gen 1 barrel into a Spear-LT upper. |

Got my brand new Spear LT for the first range outing. I only cleaned, re-lubed the rifle and verified barrel screw torque. The barrel screws were at or above 60"/LB. I read that these rifles usually run over gassed. But my experience was different. I ran the following ammo and gas combinations: Wolf 55 GR: short stroke on - and + Igman 55 GR: short stroke on -, works on + Winchester M193: works on - Green Tip M855: short stroke on -, works on + IMI 77GR Razor Core: short stroke on -, works on + PPU 75GR match: short stroke on -, some still short strokes on + From the above, it seems that the rifle needs to be on + even with quality ammo. |

With the impending ban here in Virginia, I’m thinking about diving in and buying an MCX while I still can. I’m leaning towards this 11.5” 5.56 pistol, which I think maximizes the benefits of the platform for me and gives me something different from my rifles (folding stock, reliable operation with a short barrel). MCX-SPEAR LT IR 5.56 11.5" PISTOL I’m going to ask SIG, but I’m curious if this model comes with the FDE forward assist housing as shown in the product photo. I read elsewhere that that was a feature only on MCXs sold through the LE/MIL program. I’m eligible for that program, but this commercial model actually appears to be a better price right now when factoring in the ~$200 brace. I think I’ll be keeping it as a pistol because (a) it gives me more flexibility in Virginia, which is adding more restrictions on transporting rifles, and (b) I’m not sure I’ll have time to SBR it. I’d love to hear feedback from the group about this choice if it’s going to be my one and only MCX, given I have almost no experience with the platform. I will likely put a Tailhook on the SIG brace. How reliable has the 11.5” been, both suppressed and unsuppressed, has it been comfortable to shoot with the Tailhook (if you have one), etc. I’ve read as much as I can of this and other threads, but I know things have a tendency to evolve over time with SIG products. Thanks for any feedback you all can offer! |

Thanks for any feedback you all can offer! I only have about 2k rounds through mine so far and it’s ran flawless. I have shot 55, 62 and 77grn. Suppressed and unsurpassed. There should be people here with way more trigger time on theirs I’m curious to hear from also. |

Thanks for any feedback you all can offer! In the MCX LT, have the 9" 300BO, 11.5" 556, and the 16" 556. If I only had one, it would be the 11.5". I have had no issue with it. My gen 2 11.5" had some issues with cycling on PMC 223, but the LT has been fine. I bought most through Proven Arms LE/MIL; IIRC VA residents are not charged tax so that factors in. Of course, on some guns deals on gun.deals beat LE/MIL so I check both. |

Thanks for any feedback you all can offer! I have an 11.5 on a standard ar lower with the SAS stock, no issues with it at all. As for VA, just go buy 5 stripped lowers and SBR them now, future proof your self. |

Reptilia just released their Puller charging handle for the MCX. Boy these look nice! I ordered the FDE version to replaced my black G Super MCX.. Looks much less pokey than the G! https://reptiliacorp.com/product/puller-sig-mcx-charging-handle/ |

That's what the MCX was designed for and why most aftermarket CH aren't supported on the OG Rattler. FCD does, and as far as I know, makes the only aftermarket dual latch CH. |

Even with a single latch, the roll pin design it STILL better than a standard AR upper and single latch. I've never bumped one loose. Never had any issues with my above G Super MCX charging handle, just didn't like it because it was too pointy. |

I ordered this like early Wednesday morning. It's everything I wished my G Super MCX charging handle had been with very little play! Going to order another one for a 7.75" 5.56 Rattler/RSAR@Home build I'm going to do. Dang that looks good. I’m tempted to buy one just for the heck of it. Attached File |

Looks like the Reptilia doesn’t have the rear fence that the Geissele has up against the receiver gap. I wonder if that’ll make any difference in gas to the face? |

Please? I was thinking would be the perfect length of pull for me. I run the Virtus stock on my 11.5" LT fully extended. That is exactly the RSAR@Home build I was planning out. I have a spare set of the SIG QD cups and a buddy who can drill/tap the rail at work. Was going to swap the optics/laser setup off my 11.5" LT to a 7.75" Rattler LT and add a SKIFF. Probably just go back to my EOTech on the 11.5". Tanodized 11.5" SPEAR LT, w/ Geissele MCX SSA. |

She can feel a little short at times but I had the smaller minimalist Sig stock on it before and that just beat you up while shooting. This one feels soooo much better. However the stock one fully close with a QD sling swivel in the cup as the rubber on the end of the buttstock hits it before fully closing. Very minor and I'm not to worried about it. The Unity mount with the Skiff is a great option. I have a SC Irregulars OMM Mico mount and OMM Mid board coming in the mail to test out as well. Attached File Attached File |

I'd love to see it with the OMM when you get it! Kind of want to try this stock on a full-size SPEAR 308. I know SIG originally sold it on the Cross Trax, seems like it might be a good fit for a 308 with that riser hump. |

I appreciate how much sleeker it looks but I found the design to be poorly designed as far as mounting the T2 goes. Even with a thin micro screw driver the angle of the optic base prevented me from being able to properly tighten the optic screws which forced me to use the small "L" side of an hex key. Also I'm disappointed with how far off the color variations can be with their anodizing process. I ended up purchasing their mid board as well as the short board mounts the LA23 too far back making it extremely difficult to unscrew the battery cap. Not something that I would care to deal with in the field. Swapped around the placement of the rifle light and laser activation buttons as well. Attached File Attached File |

Your painted rifle is ugly, but I’m uglier, so send it to me and I’ll make it look good!
If it weren’t for double standards, we’d have no standards at all.
