| started to disassemble the upper gen1 for cerakote and was wondering about the screwed in parts / ejector and the other parts that use the torx screws? |
|
Wondering what about them?
I disassembled mine completely with no problems save getting the dust cover off. That was including the collapsible stock . Expecting the main parts (upper, lower, hand guard and stock parts) back from Cerakote any day now...hopefully assembly will will be as eventful as the disassembly was and not including any slipping punches. Not sure what size the screws where as I have a full set of torx and a hex bits and just tried until if found a fit. |
I got the whole upper disassembled, the ejector and that other part next to it off, and boy did they use rockset or blue Loctite cause getting those off was a pain.
The dust cover and roll pin was easy. Before I take anything apart I like to know what parts etc that I'm dealing with. Also I looked all over the internet and could not find any parts diagram what so ever of the Mpx or Mcx. I don't even remember if I got a manual with the gun? Even on sigs website there is no manual listed for the gun..

| just downloaded the manual thanks , when looking at the diagram of parts it only shows a basic field strip not all on the parts in the upper are listed. it is missing the roll pins for the dust cover ,the dust cover, dust cover spring slide lock pins, slide lock, detent spring dent etc. mag release pin and spring etc. Oh well guess they might do a reprint later on, after a few gens. |
