For the guys that have gotten the folding stock, does it simply pull open or is the folding mechanism supposed to be depressed to open?  Thanks

It locks closed, you need to pull up on it, you will feel it move then swing it out, locks in place after that. Mine was very difficult to move but once it did I greased it with lithium grease as one
member suggested, it's much better now. DO NOT force it, it will break.

It locks solid in the both the open and closed position. It definately won't open or close without intent.

How do you apply grease without forcing it to move? Even after spraying the hinge with WD40 I still can't get mine to budge.

You have to leverage it up by placing your thumb on top of the receiver right behind the rear sight. Place your index and middle finger around to the underside of the stock. Push down with your thumb while pulling up with your fingers. Hope this helps. The stock will loosen up.

I used a screwdriver the first time to pry up on the hinge, go slow and make sure you are positive of the direction, pry a little and you will see it move in the correct direction.

Thanks guys for the feedback.  I talked to Aaron with Sig customer service and he said that the new MCX/MPX style stocks pull open without manipulating the folding mechanism.  That is how the folding stock on my Cabela's  MCX also works.
