I finally got my mcx yesterday after what felt like forever. First thing I noticed was how heavy that trigger is. Anybody know how to go about removing the safety so I can replace it? Now a normal milspec trigger or a Geissele would fit just fine without having to remove the safety but I have a cmc which is all one contained unit. Anybody have any luck with this?

Same as any AR.
Take off or loosen the grip, allow the detent to release, push out the side.

Only difference with the stock selector on the MCX is you need a small punch to push out the pin on the left side first. It's pretty straight forward.

I tried my CMC and it worked great but you can't screw the screw in all the way for the hammer pin on the ejection side because the shape of the magwell.

While the factory trigger is kinda heavy is has gotten much better after maybe 4-500 pulls. I don't have a scale but I'd say around 5-6lbs.

I don't get all the hate on the factory trigger...maybe I got a good one I don't know. I was able to shoot a hair over MOA groups with the factory trigger at 400 and 550 yards last weekend. I did not feel like the trigger was hindering me at all.

I replaced the factory trigger in my MCX with a Geissele G2S with no problem.  I didn't remove the safety, and it went in like any AR trigger.
