Anyone have one of these? I am looking for a deer rifle, and this one was offered to me in 30-06. Its the quick barrel change model. He wants 600.00 for it..

Good deal or not?

I had one in 30-06. I think I paid $700 for it with a cheap scope.

Good gun. Well made. I really wanted one in .308 though. Yeah, quick change barrel system, but good luck finding any barrels. Especially in .308

I bought one about ten years ago, when Sigarms was importing them.  Mine was a synthetic 7mm Rem Magnum.  It shot lights out, and was tremendously undervauled when I bought it.  Sigarms never came through with the support for the extra barrels and bolts, so that part was a wash.  Mine was far more accurate than any production rifles available at the time.  I ended up trading it straight across for a Remington Custom Shop 700 AWR in 300 Win Mag at a local gunshop.  That turned out to be a horrible decision.  The SHR970 was ten times the quality of anything Remington ever put out, since their inception.  I killed an Auodad ram at a lasered 423 yards with it.  Great rifle, poor owner decision.

I've got one in .270, shoots lights out. I think I paid $400 for it and would sell it for 3 times that. Smooth, solid feel, good trigger, users friendly safety. Only issue is that they don't make them anymore so parts are scarce. I bought several spare mags a while back to make sure I had spares. Wish I had bought another barrel and/or bolt when they were available (or another whole gun). As long as it is in good shape you won't find a better gun for that price.

Have one in 30-06. Shoots < MOA

Uses Browning BLR scope mounts.

Bought mine for $475 back in the day. Loctite the action screws.

Never did the switch barrel thing.

Don't know what the value is today.
