| Im considering this one as it really seems that Sig did it right. I like all the options that come with it. I'm also considering the Colt LE901, which is said to be very accurate. How is the accuracy of the 716? Does the factory suggest an accuracy in MOA (like Colt or Armalite) |
| Rest assured. Mine is to accureat. I have bad eyes and can shoot very accuratly with a scope but not so much with iron sights. My 716 standing up with nothing to lean on or prop using the factory iron sights I was bale to hit clays at 130 yeard consistantly using some Radway Green surplus.. After putting on a good leupold scope (1.25X4 Firedot) I fired a five shot group at .68" at 100 using Hornady 165gr ammo. The 716 is the cats ass in accuracy and more import quality. The fit and finish is surpurb. I have several Armalites and Rock River 308's and none can compare to the Sig 716 |

The trigger is the weak link, 7.6# and very rough (only speaking to mine). I replaced it with an SSA-E from Giselle which is excellent. 5 shot groups are now just above MOA (1.3") off the bench. Just ordered a FSC30 compensator so hopfully that will also help. I certainly do not consider myself a marksman so other may have better accuracy. |
| I've gotton better accuracy with my 716 stock than with my Almalite Ar10 SS 20" match trigger. The weird part is I get better groups with the 716 than I did with my Remingtom 5R 20" using the same match ammo. I did the fire one clean fire another one clean for 20 rounds with mine as I do with all my riffles. I load my own match ammo and that helps a lot. Even with Redway Green surplus accuracy was very good. |
