After being an AR platform guy for some time, I let a 556 Patrol SWAT follow me home from the dealer. I have a few questions on accessories.

Sling? I see a mounting loop on the gas block and a slot on the stock. Whats the best way to mount a sling and still be able to fold the stock?

Sights? Not too kean on the diaopler rear sight and non-folding front. I see the MI folding replacement. Will the MI folding front line up with the factory built in folding rear? How about a Magpul MIAD rear?

First impression is that it is well made. Very solid. Love the gas system and bolt design.

Dont like the mag release as its alittle farther forward than a AR. I have short fingers and reaching it means adjusting my grip. Any after market extended mag releases?

Thanks.

Does your 556 not have a sling loop at the upper rear left side of the receiver?

As for sights, I would suggest the Aurora Diopter set. So far it's the closest thing to the SIG 550 series sights available for the 556. And if you can find a set in stock somewhere.

If your handguard has the top rail contiguous with the rail on top of the receiver, then the Magpul MBUS sights (front and rear) might be a good choice. If the handguard is separate from the receiver rail then there will probably be too much play in the handguards to make this a viable option. There isn't much out there that lines up with the SIG sights that I know about.

I just got a factory flip up form sight blade and have the lollipop stick rear flip up for back up and an Aimpoint Micro as the primary on my 556 Patrol.

No sling loop at the rear of the receiver. Just a slot molded into the stock.

It's something they started more recently. My 556 SWAT Classic doesn't have it, but I thought that change had been added before the patrol version came out.

Anyone using one of these side folder sling adapters?
