I have a client who wants to sell a rifle to someone in Colorado and wants me to ship it UPS from one FFL to another FFL. Do I enter the rifle into my A&D and then immediately sign it back out? Or do I just need to verify the shipping to FFL info and ship it on it's way? The rifle is all packed up by the customer, do I need to open it and get SN and info for my books or just ship?
I was thinking of charging $20 plus cost of shipping. What are some ideas there too? Thanks Mark |

A very reasonable fee could lead to a decent revenue stream in shipping handguns out to be worked on, since FFL-FFL can go USPS priority mail. If your fee plus the cheap postage is substantially less than FedEx saver air, but still worth your time and effort... |

Thanks for all the advice, this was just the first time in a few years that I had this request and wanted to be sure I had done it correctly, which I had. And yes, several years ago it was probably covered but as a full time veterinarian and the multitude of other hats I wear, I just wanted to be 100% correct. In school I was told the only dumb question was the one you didn't ask
Thanks to all for refreshing this in my mind! Mark |
