Nope, Bill Maxwell.  Very nice and thorough guy, he got there at 11:05 and we wrapped up at 1:50.   I know I'm not ready for an 07 so just sticking with an 01 to start with, maybe revisit the 07 at a later date.  Only thing left is to send them a letter from the local police chief saying i can do business here and that's it.

Why do they need this? Is this a local requirement? On a federal level all you are required to do is provide a copy of your completed application to the CLEO in your area. He doesn't need to sign it.

No clue.  I have to provide, in writing, an approval letter from my landlord and local Leo chief.

You do not need written permission from your CLEO, your IOI is wrong.

If your township/city/county requires a business permit to operate a business, the prospective FFL has to provide the approved business permit to the ATF.

Perhaps in your area, the CLEO gives the go-ahead to run a business?  Or he's on the approval chain for a business permit?
