[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Business License?

I've been looking over a few dealer applications and they ask for your business license. Is this the same as my LLC filing papers and/or my certificate of assumed name? My county doesn't issue business licenses so I'm a bit confused here.

Most will be satisfied with your state/county or local sales tax license number, in lieu of an actual business license, where such a license is not required. No business license needed for selling guns in my jurisdiction, either - just sales tax licenses.

My state issues the licenses. The number on them is the same ID number we use for filing sales tax returns. Our IOI wanted to see it at our initial interview.

"Business license" is typically synonymous with "resale certificate".

In KY, the answer is yes. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thing in NY.
