| I am waiting on my 07 to be approved and I know that I want to manufacture SBRs and silencers. Now correct me if I'm wrong but if I get my Class II this allows me to manufacture and deal in these items, correct? Once I have my 07 in hand how do I apply for my Class II license and what is the additional cost? |
| Since you are a new business- you more than likely did less than $500,000 in sales last year. If that discribes you- the Fee is $500. There is no application- cut the check and it is done. And yes- a 07/02 allows you to create MGs, suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, etc... |

Yes, it includes AOW, suppressor, SBR, SBS and MG, but not DD. Also not armor-piercing ammunition, iirc. Thanks, this is what I thought but I usually like to confirm my thoughts. Any idea if I would have to get any special permits/licenses from my state, after all I do live in NY. |

Checked into ITAR? What about it? How is ITAR with a Class II different than ITAR with the 07? There's no difference whether or not you have an SOT. If you have an 06, 07, or 10 FFL you have to register with the State Department. To get your SOT just fill out the form at the link below and send in a check for $500. http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5630-7.pdf |

Unfortunately, no. All manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense articles, defense services, or related technical data, as defined on the United States Munitions List (Part 121 of the ITAR) (PDF, 7MB), are required to register with DDTC. Registration is primarily a means to provide the U.S. Government with necessary information on who is involved in certain manufacturing and exporting activities. Registration does not confer any export rights or privileges, but is a precondition for the issuance of any license or other approval for export.

Sure, don't make anything on the Munitions List, for example you can make sporting shotguns and not register for ITAR. Kinda takes the fun out of it though. |

I'll just have to cough up the money to ITAR, how much is it again? |

Go to the State Department website, that will give you a good idea about ITAR regulations. http://www.pmddtc.state.gov/registration/index.html |

Where can I read the laws and regulations that apply to an FFL with a Class II? ATF NFA Handbook is a good start. You'll also want to read through the ATF Firearm Industry FAQ's. |
