So who will ship what?  I know USPS will ship pretty much any gun.  What about UPS and Fed Ex?  I have heard UPS won't ship handguns and Fed Ex no firearms.  Thought before I spent half the morning in automated call cues I would ask some people with experience.

Thanks

Fedex - Handguns overnight only, Long Guns can go ground
UPS - Handguns overnight / 2 day, Long Guns ground
USPS - handguns for FFLs only (Form 1508 has to be supplied each time), Long Guns anyone.

I'll answer based on my experiences at our store.

Any of the three will ship guns.  UPS is the main handler of ammo, as it can't go on planes.  If you're a dealer, you shouldn't have a problem with any of the three.

If you're not a dealer, you may have trouble with USPS and you will have to go to a hub for UPS and FedEx.  If you try to go to a UPS or FedEx store and they find out it's a gun, they'll freak out over the inanimate object and tell you they can't ship it.  Those stores are almost always franchises and they set their own rules on what "UPS/FedEx ships".

I ship everything USPS.

Less expensive, better insured, easier to deal with and make claims get refunds, etc.

Only negative is they are not really there yet on real-timer tracking.
