| I'm an 01 FFL and I'd like to pay the SOT to be able to deal in Class III items. Besides filling out the form 5630.7 and including a check, what else is involved? Is it just a matter of the form and check, or is it an 'application'? How long does it typically take to be approved? |

Make a copy of the application because that IS your SOT until it arrives in the mail. There is no approval. It is simply a tax. |

hate to threadjack, but does the 06 FFL woork the same way? In what way? If you already have an 01 ffl, do you just pay the fee and resubmit a form 7. Or do you have to go through the ATF interview, pics and fingerprints and and notifying the CLEO? |

Different topic, but if you are going for a different FFL, you won't need to resubmit fingerprints and photo. You will need to do the CLEO notice. They will probably want to interview you again though (I don't know the process for ammo manufacture) |

There are no records (except for AP ammo) and the excise tax is now collected by the Tax & Trade Bureau. |

I totally forgot about the FET with ammunition.
Here is their website for anyone interested. http://www.ttb.gov/firearms/index.shtml |
