| I'm going to buy one. My dilemma is that I can only afford one of their two possible calibers. Mostly I do 50 yard plinking so this is clearly nothing serious. But I can not decide between the 223 or the 9mm. Any suggestions? |
| I'd get the .223/5.56. I'm just not a big fan of the 9mm blowback rifles. I've tried out several (the Tavor being one of them) and recently went back to .223/5.56 as I just find them more fun to shoot for some reason. I have an X95 223/5.56 that I shoot at an indoor 50 yard range and just love it. |

But I can not decide between the 223 or the 9mm. Any suggestions? I bought the Tavor SAR because it has the available kit. Mine is 5.56 and I then found a slightly used 9mm conversion kit on Gunbroker for 600 bucks. Still a little steep, but not much more than a new Glock. I'd go 5.56 and buy the 9mm kit later, when you can afford it. What I'd really love, though, is to have one rifle in each caliber so I don't have to swap it out, but I couldn't afford that arrangement. |

Quoted: Any word on a Manticore M-lock floated forend for the x-95? Quoted: Quoted: X95 is only offred in .223 at this point. Hadn't heard about this, sounds interesting, not too crazy about the factory forend. |

I wonder if a floated forend would not improve accuracy? |

Having taken off the fore end before I'm guessing to free float it you just need a metal pipe like extension that fulfills the inner Teflon piece but doesn't touch the he barrel. The hard part being making it interface with the front of the top rail and the front of the pistol grip sub assembly like the factory unit. That rear Teflon piece at least to me looks like it's just to brace that part of the polymer frame from over compressing since there is a screw that tightens up to hold the forend to the rear half with no other support in that spot.
But you might also not want the top rail to interface with the forend too much since the rail is attached to the gas port by two screws as well. Edit: I'm a dummy looking at my pic of my x95 torn down the pistol grip assemblies front does not plug into the handguard. Edit edit: or maybe I'm a complete idiot and it does just a little tab. I'll have to look when I get home. |

I think free floating the x95 will be difficult and require a new sight rail and hand guard . The best you can do for now is to remove the front barrel bushing. There has been mixed opinions on if this helps or not. On the military versions with the shorter sight rail it looks like the bushing is needed to support the handguard. The hand guard is supported only by the front bushing and locking tab from the trigger guard and a small hex screw with very thin tabs to the receiver.
Does anyone know what the accuracy potential of the MILITARY VERSION is? The reported 3-5 Moa of the x95 may be all this design is capable of. |

I kind of wish I had gotten black instead of FDE. I am so used to black rifles. Is it possible to trade plastic? Quoted:

Is it possible to trade plastic? I don't think you can remove the steel receiver from the plastic without destroying it.. I just assume the plastic is part of the receiver like a glock. |

The x95 SBR kits and 9mm conversion kits due in September. FYI, the Teflon sleeve, part #4 that was rattling, located under the rear of the front handguard has been eliminated on the civilian/US x95's. It was for the IDF issue guns with the round handguards. How sure are you of the Teflon bushing (part #4) being gone? My new X95 was shipped to the distributor in the last 30 days, and it has both bushings. |
| I called IWI customer service to get one a few weeks ago as I noticed it was missing when I removed the forearm to swab down the barrel. Attempted to order it per the IPC illustrated parts/x95 manual. Was told by the reps it was no longer shipped installed on the US x95's nor being available and per IWI Israel it was for the round IDF forearms. I'm curious what serial number range you might have. I know they did have s/n allocated "blocks" for LEO vs. non-LEO for distribution. |
