I have always wanted an Aug, but couldn't afford one. Over the last few years I had picked up two MSAR rifles. I guess I was one of the lucky ones, I
Have never had a problem with either. After I retired, I used some of my severance package to purchase an A3 Aug and an Acog. I now have more in
the Aug than both MSAR rifles with accessories. So far I have put about 300 rds thru the Aug and it hasn't shown me anything that my MSAR couldn't
do. The only problem I can see with the MSAR is going to be parts availability.

I had an MSAR(AUG's weren't available at the time) that was so reliable it caused the sale of my AR's to buy more ammo. I shot over 50,000 rds through it and never had a hiccup. I finally sold it last winter and bought an AUG because I was afraid the barrel and springs were just about shot out. Not because of anything the AUG could do better, just the parts availability. I still think MSAR made a "nicer" rifle I have about 6,000rds through my AUG and still miss the MSAR.

I have an Msar with the forward assist.
It's a great rifle, bought second hand. The PO sent it back to have the square bolt conversion done and included the stanag stock in the sale to me.
I've put almost 100 rounds of Wolfe through it and am very happy with it but I also have an for parts availability!

Unfired MSAR E4 here.
Are parts that hard to come by?

Considering that MSAR is out of business what parts are still out there will not last long and will be going for a premium.
Luckily I managed to pick up some spare parts over the last couple of years, but I don't think I will need them.

Now you have both how much diference is there between the 2. Parts like the firing pin, cocking pice and barrel. I have a MSAR E4 I bought this winter. I have 500 round throuth it with no problems, as long as I don't use the MSAR mags. I got 5 with the rifle and none of them will fuction for 30 rounds. PMAGs and GI mag are 100%.

So you have the stg stock? I have one but have never used it, really no need.
I may sell mine since I have an aug but I don't think I will get much for it.
I know if I were to attend a class(cold day in hell)I would take an aug or Tavor but for just some plinking I'd take it to the range.
