I'm wanting to experiment putting a 1-4x scope on my AUG A3. At this point, I just want to spend $500 or less for the time being. I'm considering
-Leatherwood/Hi-LUX CMR -Vortex Viper PST -Bushnell AR -Nikon M223 -Burris MTAC |

Quoted: I run an Osprey 1x4x24 with a 30mm tube on my AUGA3 & think it's the cat's ass! I am a die hard Nikon Kool-Aid drinker but the Osprey surpasses Nikon, IMO. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. My .o2 Is 1 power a true 1 power? What do these go fore? |

What about a 1-6x? Under $500? The only 1-6x under $500 I'm aware of is the Primary Arms 1-6x, which seems like a decent enough optic for the $. I run a Leopold VX6 1-6x, but it's at the $1k mark, not what the OP's looking for. I'd be looking at the PA, the Burris, and the PST for the $ range.. |
| I've been looking at the XTRII 1-5x, and the reticle, true 1x, and 5x magnification are really appealing to me. So, I'm thinking of spending a little more $. My only hang up is the weight and variable eye relief. The ERrange is 4.25-3.5. On a gun like the AUG that doesn't have an adjustable stock, I'd imagine id be slide my cheekweld all over the place depending on what variable I'm using. I don't have a lot of experience with scopes, so appreciate I out on this. |

RE: weight and $, you can look at a Leopold VX6 in roughly the same price range but lighter, just depends on how much 'value' you place in a BDC type reticle (and if you're lucky enough that your loads and barrel length are actually anywhere close.. ;) ). RE: eye relief, it just means you set the scope up in it's rings to where you have a clear picture on max magnification with a natural cheek weld. I go further and check standing vs prone and bench positions at 1x and top magnification, as well. |
