Is this happening this year or what?

Halfway through the year and not an official word yet...

Money is starting to burn that proverbial hole in my pocket. Get moving or you're not going to get it from me...

I can't recall where I saw it but some site mentioned that FN would be doing AUG barrels and to check out PJ's Steyr AUG site.  Sure enough looks like Pete is taking orders for different length AUG barrels.

Yep, also know about those barrels, but it has been a couple months and no word from Pete on a delivery date from my emails to him either.

I would be shocked if we saw new Steyr AUGs before 4th quarter 2012.

Last I heard they had not even settled on a manufacturing partner in the U.S. yet, and with lack of any solid information I would tend to look at Steyr's past track record on how fast they move.

Not saying I don't want it to happen!  I want new AUGs out as much as anyone.

I spoke with them.
Two, maybe three times since the first of the year.

They are looking for an agreement  to manufacture  and ship only 40-50 A3's per month , Maximum.
It appears that they have no vision for getting rich quick.

This time around? Their price out the door may be slightly higher, maybe not.  No way less than previous.

Judging by their website and ads in the current gun mags, you'd think the A3 would be available.  Why advertise the A3 if there is no stock of them?

40-50 a month?  Jeez, I know guys who could build at that scale out of their home workshop!

If the Tavor is anything as good as the hype and comes in at or under $2000 MSRP, I think you will rapidly see it start to overtake the AUG in the American market.

To my eyes it appears as usual Steyr just does not have a good grasp of the U.S market.

I deal with European companies very often, they have a very different attitude about things than Americans. They do not do ANYTHING in a hurry, and most of them couldn't care less about US sales. This is attitudes seems to pervade all forms of business in Europe not just the firearms industry. This could be one reason why the EU is crumbling!

Everyone seems to want what they make but ignore the fact that as a business, Steyr is low grade.

Do they still take the entire month of August off for summer vacation?

It probably wasn't very hard for Steyr to come up with a plan this time around, considering that they have  already taken this boat ride.

Steyr knows exactly how many AUGS that they need to build.
And, with the rumor going around that Steyr AL will be doing the assembly and QC in house?,,   How many do they employ over there  in AL?

Steyr moves slow. We all know this well. They didn't pull the AUG off the market by choice. They'll put it back on, but like all things Steyr it's going to take time.

For a lot of us I know it will be a race between IWI and Steyr for our money.

Steyr probably realized that it makes no  sense mimicking the mistakes of other Manufacturers.  FN comes to mind.  FN finally took the hint with their FS2000 and PS90.

The internet Shouted!

We want them!   FN listened.  FN Built Them.  FN Shipped Them.

PS90's FS2000's have always been just one phone call away from your local dealer.
The internet response now is,,,  –– TUNA SHE IS A BIG FISH.  Overpriced!

Just passing along what my local FFL is Claiming. Some truth.  I wanted another  PS90 Tri-Rail. He cannot snag one for me.
Yep,  Gunbroker,  Gunsamerica, as well as here and there.

I Tried several listings.  Every response,  Not In Stock.

FN has turned down their Faucet to a trickle for those two specific models.

You did it right. You have made a good investment.

I purchased my first Steyr back in the mid 1980's.

Today, twenty five or so years later, I can still pick up my phone and ring their phone!
