I was thinking about getting one.  Reason being, with my E4 rail my BUIS are a little difficult to use, as the front sight post appears to be HUGE.  Are the extra inches on the 2020 rail out front going to make that big a difference?  Or is it something I should just learn to live with?  Any and all opinions welcome.

I'm sure the significantly longer sight radius would help, but so would one of these:

I have one of each of the first two non-hooded FSPs, and they work as advertised.  I also really prefer an HK style front sight (Troy) on the MSAR because of the short sight radius.  You basically only see the FSP because the rear aperture and front hood appear about the same diameter at that distance.

I have Troy's.  The reason I don't want one of these replacement posts is that my FSP has tritium.  Don't want to lose that.

I got the 2020 after asking the same question and reading this:

Default Range report
Well I went through a rifle qual today with the new rail and passed which was something I could not do with the 9" rail. I passed with both Iron sights and the optic. To answer your question Aqua, yes now I can cowitness with the BUIS through the optic. The front sight is slightly magnified because of the Leupold but would work fine especially for close quarters combat. Personally though if my optic went down for whatever reason, I would perfer to just take it off since it only takes a second or two longer if I had the time. Great rail 2020

Hey Joe, are you going to the KY shoot this Saturday at the Creek? I'll have an STG w/2020 top rail there if you want to finger *uck it before you buy. This rail has the MI flip ups on it.

Where is it?  I live in Northern KY, if it's not too far, I might head down there.

If you come you will be hooked for the next time. Alot of friendly ARFcom folks there. Bring what you want and if you can't afford to shoot much, no problem. Lots of ammo to go around and everyone will let everyone play with their toys.

Yea 2020's rail is pretty awesome. At 100 yards my FSP would completely cover the man sized target with the 9 inch rail. 2020's rail gives a very nice sight radius for BUIS along with plenty of space inbetween for an optic and maybe even a small scope. Not only that but it is super easy to install. Really a win/win situation. You won't be disappointed.
