So, the title says it all.  Anyone try one of these?

Yes. Only trijicon product I had trouble with. Poor battery life. Replaced with RX30.

had two, first was orginal style that even took the little lite sticks. second did not take the lite sticks.
tritium was sooo weak in both that i don't know why they even bothered with it. they could knock off the money and just call it the bipower for say $250 and it would then be worth it.

My take on the Trijicon Tri-Power

The fiber optic lit aspect worked great in bright light...

I'm color-blind (red/green) and sometimes I couldn't see the red reticle very well...  especially when I was in the shade of the shooting pavilion, shooting out into a brightly lit target area, I had trouble seeing the reticle... so I had to go to the batteries to make it bright enough to see it... which takes me to my next issue.

BAD battery life... and EXPENSIVE batteries (qty 2 of the 1/3N).  I drained these suckers faster than any battery I've ever used...

Third, but for me, a relatively minor issue was the tritium (if the battery power had been decent, I never would have bothered with the tritium... but, at least for me, it was supposed to be there as a back-up)
Other than my color vision issues, I have terrific eyesight... and that includes really good night sight... but in order to see the tritium lit reticle, I had to go into my bathroom at night, and close the door... after about a half an hour, my eyes had adjusted enough to just barely see the faint chevron... and that's after sending it back for tritium replacement...  That being said... again, I am color-blind... and that might be part of the issue, considering it's a red chevron... a non-color-blind person might have less of a problem...

I ended up swapping mine for an EO Tech, and the guy who now has my old tri-power seems to love it (he doesn't need to use battery power very much).

I wish that...
1) ...the reticles were available in other colors (5-10% of all males are color blind to some extent... most are red-green color blind, but a good bit are blue-yellow.  and, yes there are those unlucky few who only see in black and white.)
2) ...there were more reticle options... something other than just the simple chevron... I'd like bullet drop compensation as well
3)    (just a helpful hint... high contrast  really helps.  Maybe having the outer edge of the chevron black, with the inside brightly lit with either a pale green or yellow would have been nice.  But it's all very subjective... The red, for me is sometimes such a dark color)
4) ...Trijicon would use common (and somewhat cheaper) batteries.  I had a heck of a time finding replacements... Everyone else is pretty much either doing AA or CR123A.  It would be nice if Trijicon did the same...
5) ...battery life would be at least in the same league with the other combat sight manufacturers.  I'm not asking 50,000 hours... but I'd be surprised if I got 2 hours out of mine.
6) ...the price wasn't so high (I got mine a couple years ago for $535, and the MSRP on the web page now is $765... I understand inflation... but we haven't seen THAT much inflation... in the last few years)
7) ...Trijicon could make it a bit lighter...  maybe.  Sure, it's rugged... but is it a bit too rugged?  Maybe, maybe not.

For me; I really like the idea of a tri-powered combat optic... if Trijicon would do some rework... and drop the price, I'd seriously consider getting another one...

I did some research on these prior to buying my TA33 Acog and, well, I went with the ACOG. I've heard a lot of what the one review says above. It's close to being a great optic, but just falls short in a few areas that are pretty darn important.

Excellent concept w/flawed execution, IMHO. Battery life is very poor, tritium is far too dim (supposedly for NVG compatibility), fiber optic collector glows at night when using the battery, loved the daytime performance w/the chevron reticle.
Brighten the tritium and replace the current battery w/an AA or CR123 and I'd seriously reconsider it.

I've got one, and battery life is my biggest beef. The batteries in mine don't even last 2 months if the sight is turned off .

Actually finding the batteries is not hard as every walmart and drug store in the world carries this size of battery in their little specialized battery section.

You should be able to find a used generation one (with the glow stick tube), the tritium is brighter and the cost will be less.  I have one and like it, better than an eotech or an aimpoint (in my opinion) and i've used both.  The advantage of an acog or accupoint over the tripower or reflex is that the reticule is etched.

I have to agree with the battery life part (relative to an Aimpoint). For me I love mine on my STG. When I first looked at optics I wondered what I would find to use w/o having to go with irons as a back up. The Tri-Power seemed to be a good choice. I have tried mine under every circumstance that I could use it under and have not found any flaw (battery life mentioned already) that would hinder me in using it. I live in the country so when the wife is at work I do a little "testing" with my weapons. Light/dark, day/night, inside/outside, under multiple lighting conditions I have found my Tri-Power to be a good choice for me. I have several other scopes and red dots on other weapons and have tested them under similar circumstances as the Tri-Power. For me the Tri-Power works well on my STG. I will say though that my personal favorite reticle of choice is the Eotech, followed by a close second the Tri-Power. My eye picks up the Eotech reticle slightly quicker. My Tri-Power is the one w/o the glowstick. I got it from SG for $435.00.

I thought it was such a piece of junk that I quickly returned it to SWFA.  Paid less than $600 shipped.  Most reasons as above...but also it is just so clunky/chunky and I didn't like the cover for the fiber optic, it seemed to always get dislodged.

The Leupold CQT was just about as bad.

I almost bought one awhile back on the net. I am glad I went to a local shop to check one out. I did not like it at all. Very dim inside and I heard the battery life was not good from my dealer. For the price it is a rip off.

Get an accupoint instead.

I absolutely love mine think it is the great optic for the money, The fiber optic works so well i never use the battery during any type of day light condition.

I am not interested in the Tri-Power at all but would really like to see the little light sticks that could be used in the first generation model.

WOW, I posted I wanted to trade a TA01 for a Tripower just today.  Think I'm reconsidering that...
