The MSAR rifles are often maligned for a crappy trigger pull, in ability to shoot with the off side hand without a tilt, and an inability to mount some ‘knuckle buster’ optics or accessories due to rail limitations. In many if not all of these cases our rifles were guilty as charged, but that is changing rapidly.
Whether you stand on the “stock is the only way to go” or “bolt it all on at once” camp (or somewhere in between) you must admit having a strong user base for a product is one of the best ways to keep the product alive in the market and innovation occurring. In the last year or so we have seen a lot of outstanding products produced for our humble “pups” to make them the “complete package” we all envision. Now for some folks the rifles are 100% “there” in box stock kit and while others looked and often prayed for better options. There are rifles in our own community plagued by a lack of aftermarket parts and that has slowed sales a good bit. I for one took a hard look at the FS2000 (which is a fine rifle) and decided the MSAR E4 was the way to go based on the support and growing availability of aftermarket parts. In this day and age of the rampant “let the government fix it mentality” members of our user community (instead of just saying “I wish someone would fix it”) have actually stepped to the plate and made it happen! I wanted to start a thread where we (the rest of the user community) can acknowledge and recognize anyone we want for making the platform what it is in support and what it can become with innovation. Disclaimer: these are IMO suggestions and if you disagree, so be it. So to start the list I would like to recognize: Dave from MSAR – He is the man with the plan on the MSAR product. Lets face it to many of us Dave’s outstanding commitment really makes MSAR. It is obvious that a huge portion of the support and representation is ‘all Dave’ and he handles it well. Lets hope the company gets moved and its collective ducks back in a row or at least changes the name to “Dave’s Small Arms Research” going forward. Also if there happens to be a 'freak break in' and the 7.62X39 barrels and bolts come up missing, I was out of town and don't know a thing about it! Ratworx – In my option they have been a real win for the community. From working with product innovators to supporting the rifles they have done a great job. When we bought our E4s they were willing to ‘pre-loosen’ the flash suppressors for me so we could install our Gemtech Bi-lock flash suppressors as soon as the rifles arrived. They have also gone the extra mile for me on getting spare parts that I always like to have spares on hand just in case. The videos they have produced are very helpful to new owners too. 2020 Precision - for their outstanding TR-35 upper and TR-B accessory rails, not to mention the superb grip rail. I really like the TR-35/TR-Bs on my rifle and they give me room to have my USO SN-4 and still have Troy irons with room to spare and a longer sight radius. Inventure Concepts – for their Tri-Rail which, while I don’t have one personally, they seem to have a very good reputation and they sure do look cool. Neu-Trigger - for their very innovative solution to the ‘trigger problem’ that is easy to install and makes a huge improvement instantly. Promoted Pawn – For their affordable rail options. These are great if you bought a factory optic and decided to “play the field” with other options. Manticore Arms - Our newest innovator with 2 of the biggest options to come along in a while. The Raptor Charging Handle and Brass Buster should really revolutionize the ergonomics on the rifle especially for users of “knuckle buster optics” and those who want to shoot off hand at will. Anyone else have some folks they want to add to the list? I am sure I have missed a bunch! |

We can't forget the internet. The internet makes it possible for the exchange of ideas and concerns and allows us to market to the world without a gatekeeper. There are a lot of skilled individuals who would like to bring their ideas to market and the barrier has been lowered.
