Hi everyone. I've been following the MSAR rifles since they first hit the gun magazines and had the ar15 forward assists (which killed my interest). And the bulpup forums here for probably 6 months now. After reading all the positive posts about MSAR Dave and looking at the e4 rifle for awhile I've decided to take the plunge and sign up to the forums here and ask some questions before I try to get an E4 to call my own with my tax refund.
1: I'm stationed in northern VA does anyone know any good FFLs around the alexandria area that I could get an E4 transfered to from Ratworxs? Also how does that work exactly last time I tried that with a police supply store out here with a pistol they told me to leave my number and they would call me back which they never did. Their bad I guess as I wont waste my time with them again in the future. 2: If I understand correctly the prices at ratworxs are basicaly still christmas sale price do they do military discounts on top of that? (im a specialist, pay grade e4 hence the title of the thread  ). I guess I could just ask them when I call in a order latter just curious if anyone knew off the top of their heads.
3: I'm digging the tan e4s silly question but what color pmag closest matches that an 11b has to be tacticaly coordinated, I mean hell we just got all acu gear instead of mismatching DCU, BDU, and ACU at work might as well try to stay coordinated with my private arsenal  .
4: Is ratworxs still really backordered I saw a thread awhile ago which said they weren't taking any more orders till they caught up but I can't seem to find it now to check. 5: I've seen some people put aug a1 charging handles on their E4s. Can you modify the forward assist on the a1 handle to work to? I don't use the forward assist on my work m16 much but I've grown accustome to sliding the bolt back just enough on my work m14 to make sure a round has fed and the extractor has grabbed the round then whacking the bolt forward via the charging handle before firing party missions in ANC. Once Ratworx receives it they ship it to your Dealer/Gun Store and then you have to do a BATFE 4473 Form and what ever the local laws require. 2. You can get a Mil/LEO discount..... free shipping. When you place your order inform them of what branch of service you're with, etc.... 3. Flat Dark Earth, Coyote Brown, or what ever other name is out there for Desert Tan. 4. Yes, Ratworx is still back ordered. If you want a rifle... give them a ring give them your info and you be placed on the order list. Better to be high on the list and get your rifle in a month then find out they have rifles in stock and they run out or the price gets higher. If you're on the list Ratworx will honor the price of the time you were placed on the list. 5. Not a fucking clue...... I placed an order about three-four weeks ago. Called Ratworx today and they told me that they placed their orders but are waiting on MSAR to ship them the rifles. They have no clue on how long except that they will honor the prices. So it's not Ratworx that's lagging.... it's MSAR. They need to get production into high gear and start shipping out some rifles. Folks have ACR money to spend and folks want MSAR E4s. |

5. Best way to do a press-check w/the STG/E4 is to pull the mag and visually check it. With an even number of rds loaded the top rd will be on the left. If you've chambered a rd then an odd number of rds will remain w/the top rd on the right.

They cater to military and law enforcement and will be a good bet for a FFL transfer. They give a nice deal on S & W 15's which is next on my list. If you want to travel farther south, I use The Marksman in Newport News. a. Call the FFL dealer you're using and provide personal info. Have them fax their FFL to Ratworx to be put with your order. Transfer fee from the dealer is anywhere from $10.00 to.... b. Confirm with Ratworx the FFL and data is received. You dont pay Ratworx until the rifle is ready to be shipped. c. Wait d. At pick up, if your'e not from VA you'll need your orders, military ID, and passport (or something comparable). VA requires additonal ID for an "assault" weapon and its a short list what they will accept. 2. Military discount is free shipping and handling ($20). The $1300 wont last forever, so I highly suggest you get on the list ASAP. MSAR may throw some stuff in, give MSAR a call. 3. Black Pmags match all 
4. Call to confirm. Ratworx is awesome, but the website is behind. I thought I wouldnt be able to get an optic E4 and got a call last week that "one" turned up and shipped out to me! Was on the list for about 3 weeks. 5. Dont know E4, I remember those days. Get to the promo board so you can buy more toys!

Thanks for the responses I'll definitly go check out quantico arms when I get the chance . Being a refugee from the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia im excited about the prospects of getting something with more so called evil features than my mossberg 500 special purpose I left behind.

I got my E4 transferred through Virginia Arms in Manassas, and there's another funshop that just opened in Herndon, Nova Armament that does FFL transfers for a very reasonable fee.
I don't know if the FA will work or not. I know it has something to do with the end of the charging rod, I guess I will have to buy one and find out. |

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I've decided not to order an e4 till the end of march when I get done with EIB training and the attempt to get one as I don't want to have one come in and not be able to pick it up for 3 weeks or something like that because im stuck training. But I picked up some black pmags from from virginia arms while checking out my options for FFL transfer locations and ordered some FDE pmags and a set of troy industries FDE backup sights the other day from brownells for when I finally get one .
Another question. Long term since it will take me awhile to save up to afford one I was thinking about the valdada QR-TS pitbull as a scope for it. Originally I was looking at the leuopold CQT but they look like the lense is so small on them plus I believe it was SgtmjLee on here who said its small enough one large snowflake could cover the lense. The pitbull is supposed to be big enough that you can flip up buis with it on and go to town. Valdada pittbull's page on their website. Does anyone have any experience with this scope or any ideas for another model thats similar? Thanks again, Corey |
