Will the PS90 accept P90 mags?

Is it possible to get preban P90 Mags?
1/3/2010 12:32:14 PM EDT
[#1]
The P90 and the PS90 mags are the same.  I don't believe the Rifle was available before the 1994 ban.  So no preban mags.

I was under the impression that its been around since the late 80's and in use since the early 90's

They are all the same and none are dated.

Technically yes, there are some in country that came in pre 94. How anyone could prove in court how old they are is beyond me.

No preban mags - the gun was made after the ban. Sorry.

According to wiki, it was built starting in 1991. I have also seen ads for "pre-ban mags" at $250 a pop.

Was the first place I checked aswell which is why I asked. I did find a place that was selling preban original P90 mags for 190. Just wondering if it was for real.

This also says there were pre-ban guns....

See if they will send you pics or links to the mags and post them here....if there is a difference you will have to decide just how bad you want a PS90....

I've read the wiki article before, and I'd swear the dates are different now - than prev.

If there are pre 94 mags then by law they would be marked LE only so get a pic to verify it before you pay $200 for a $30 magazine.

The PRE 94 mags would be marked LEO/MIL only?

This topic has come up before on many sites many times. I don't see there being preban mags for this gun.

Why not? 2 sources say the guns were sold beginning in 1991. That would mean pre-ban mags.

Just looked. None of my FN mags have a date marked on them. Can you post a pic of yours with a date? I must be missing it if there is a date on them.

OK, yours don't but mine does...it's on the underside of the mag. It's an FN mag too.I guess the 3 "dots" are for 2003? and the arrow is pointing to the 11.I don't know, I guess the dots are the year. I don't see anything else as for the year.

If you're buying PS90 mags, there are only two important things to look for: a capacity of 50 rounds and a cheap price.  If someone offered me preban mags I would laugh in their face.  To my knowledge the max capacity of any PS90 mag is 50 rounds.  It would be like someone offering you preban AR15 mags right now.  Thanks... I'll just buy Magpuls instead.

Until a FN rep comes on here or states on their website what that marking even means or how to decipher it, we cannot assume that this is a date code.

1-12, so it's a clock code then?  Of course it is a date code.  The question is how to read it.

not saying that its not a date code, but until some hard facts come out, we cannot ASSUME anything

Mine have the clock but I don;t consider that as a date code so much.

More there for them to tell which batch came out of the mold and when in case they have problems. Lots of plastic stuff has that. I think it tells you the hour but nothing more.

Whoah... seriously, it's a date code.
1/10/2010 8:17:09 PM EDT

well...no one can decipher it so....

not sure a lawyer could figure it out even....

So, $60 for a ban-era magazine...  which doesn't do anything for people in ban-states (like NY) and the rest of us can buy brand-new FN magazines for $35 from CDNN...

So, because I'm obviously slow, will someone explain why these are worth $25 more?

Collector's value.  There will never be more of them made with those specific date codes and markings.
