i was cleaning the gas port and upon disassembly-
i twisted the gas port and ripped off one of its "lips" and the pin which holds it in is bent gas plug number 600-601-0024 according to the manual can anyone please help-where i can purchase one? many thanks in advance will |
| There is no pin that holds it in. The top of the gas regulator is spring loaded and slides in its dovetail perpendicular to the bore axis. It can then be rotated to the other settings or removed to access the gas piston and rings. It should require only finger pressure to slide and rotate. Don't use any sort of tool to try and force it or you will bend and break things. |

thanks again- i have cleaned the piston with just a twist of average finger pressure before
i proably cleaned it only 4-5 times but this time i usually press it in and twist lightly- it required much force- carbon bulid up in there- i guess then the lip of the gas plug ripped off any idea where to get those parts? i emailed msar customer service - waiting ... |

i just dont know how you break the plug? there tough. dont get me wrong i shot my gas plug off when i forgot to install it all the way lol but there is no way i could break it with my bare hands I'll bet he is referring to one of the sealing rings that go around the piston......... |
