I take care of the people that buy our guns.  I really enjoy it.  If somebody has a problem I usually hook them up.  Sometimes I can send out a part or two to fix a rifle and you guys can fix them at home.  I had a member here on this site have enough problems with his rifle it needed to be sent in twice.  Before he sent it in a third time, I sent him a bolt to try to fix the problem.  That didn't work so he sent it to me and we built him a new rifle.  He sent it back within days of receiving it saying it didn't have the right scope and it was to loose in the stock and that it could only hold 12" groups.  He demanded his money back and had the audacity to send us a "bill" from the place he bought it that has his last name in the business name charging us almost $500 over dealer!  He also put the "extra" bolt I sent him for sale on Strumgeweghr.com.  We took the rifle out to the range and installed a 12x optic and shot 1.5" groups with BHBB 68 gr loads.  I am glad to be rid of this guy.

No profanity. I give your rant a 7 out of 10.

12" Groups. No way. Anybody said that to me right away my bullshit detector would be going off.

Same name as the name on the business card from the place he says he purchased it from. Yeah...don't think he paid full retail.

Your limited warranty gives MSAR cover from people like that. He doesn't like the rifle he can put it up on Gunbroker.

You'll never be able to find a career field where you don't have to deal with assholes. I don't care what business you're in, how much you get paid, where in the world you are, how educated or wealthy the people you deal with are no matter what you'll have to deal with assholes. There is no escaping them and no shortage of them.

Keep on keeping on Dave. Weekend is here, drop it like a bag of bricks and move on with a smile.

Sounds like you bent over backwards to help this guy.  Claiming 12" groups is crazy, the guy must be a terrible shot or a terrible liar.  Sucks

Dave,

You've read and heard this a hundred times, your customer support is second to none.  You go above and beyond in order to make it right with a dissatisfied customer, I should know, you've helped me  out and I am a proud owner of a STG-556 and very happy with it.  It's just a matter of time before you encounter someone who will never be satisfied no matter what you do.

I wouldn't think twice about customers like that.

After operating a civilian range for almost a decade, i've seen stupid on a dangerous level every day.

People can shoot 12" I've seen it.  It was their pure lack of skill at shooting or sighting in optics.
I've seen people shoot 2-3 magazines in a row into the support beams or the ground from that.

I've also seen people shoot foam 3-d archery targets with rifles, and steel gongs built and marked for pistol use with rifles.

And refuse to pay all damages, etc.

Unfortunately, lots and lots of people are assholes, end of story

Two years agoI had to send in my LE STG for some teething repairs and have nothing but good things to say about MSAR's customer service! Although......whoever I talked to said he would send me some goodies back with the rifle but did not.   Ohh well! I have a great rifle!

Dave,
You have done enough.   Mention this to your boss, dump him and move on.  There are better people in the world, best to pay attention to those who want to do business w/ you.

Don't sweat on it!

I fix appliances for a living and like you I really like most of my customers, and the job of fixing the product.
There are sometimes those people who will try and pull shady stuff, or are just assholes.  Oh well.

I've never owned an MSAR rifle, but it sure sounds like your customer service is to notch sir!  Kudos!

Honestly, I'm still trying to scrounge together enough cash to buy an STG, so I have no direct experience with your customer service yet, but judging from what I've been reading here from you Dave and seeing how much you guys listen to your customers I can confidently say that you guys have the most impressive customer service I've ever observed from ANY firearms company. (whoa that's a long sentence)
Some people can't be made happy no matter what, and rarely does that have anything to do with you or your product.

...now speaking of listening to your customers, how 'bout making the rifles a little more affordable so I can buy one already (just kidding, keep up the good work!)

I have had to contact CS over a few minor issues and to order some pare parts (which I get for every gun I own).
Nothing but great service.

I will say that in general, the firearms industry does a better job than most in CS.  As a matte of fact, try to get such good service when you buy an expensive car !

DAve,
I believe that MSAR has the finest customer service of anyone in the firearms industry that I have dealt with. Now having said that, if you would care to ship me the troubled rifle that he sent back I will dispose of it properly by storing it in my safe with its brother .
Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear about this Dave.  There's all kinds of jerks out there in the world.  MSAR has excellent customer service!

Keep up the good work.

MSAR are good peeps.

I had a slight problem with my 3rd Gen Msar and they more than made up for it.

I would buy another in a heart beat.

Damn right!  You're a super guy, Dave!  I've delt with some dildos before, but none had this guy's audacity.  Just chalk this up as more proof to your legend.

I know this is a bit overdue, but here's my 50-yard group with bulk Remington 55gr. fmj and the factory optic:

The missing hole is under where George's eye/nose/cheekbone are.
This was part of my test run; trying out different factory ammo prior to zeroing.  My eye was not cooperating that day (and my bus was late and the dog ate my homework), so I will head back to the range when the weather cools off and I have a chance to work up some reloads for 100-yard work.

Thanks again for all you do!

Dave I used to be the plant manager of an automotive transmission part. I tried tohelp anyone who had a problem with our product, even down to QC many products out the door. When I first started managing the company it had gotten a bad reputation for not produceing a reliable product.

I had the guy who broke open the torque converters on a lathe to stamp a number on every single one that was built. I also had the paint guy change colors so that we could tell the new converters from  the old batch. It wasnt long on my watch that I saw some of the new converters comming back, BUT when we tore them apart there was no number stamped on the inside {which I forgot to add would be very difficult to do since each convertor was twice welded around its diameter.}.

Some of our best transmission shops customers was keeping our newconverters and taking an old worn out convertors, cleaning them, then painting them in our color. They would keep the new convertor, try to get  a refund on the old worn out convertor.

Their are good people out there then there are jerks and scam idiots. I will be the first to say your customer service is top notch, and Im still happy that you stepped up to the plate when I asked about MSAR selling a 24" barrel and giving us one. I am still very pleased with the newbarrel and rifle.............................Mike

In my previous life I was a retail store Manager in the entertainment sector. I'll always remember the words of the wise business owner:

"Out of all the people you come in contact with that have a problem, 90% of them have a genuine issue, the other 10% are just out there to get a freebie or rip you off. Don't worry about the 10%, just make sure you take care of that 90%!"

That sage advice served me well!
