So I just got the email I was so impatiently awaiting, that my AXR will be shipping soon (ordered January).

My question is, is there anything you recommend I have done prior to shipping.

Any spare parts I might as well get now?

I was planning to get the mid-length rail, accessory side rail and Q-detach Vickers sling.

Thank you.

Just shoot it!

Oh, and take lots of pics when it arrives!

A good polish on the trigger pack and a trigger lite.

I appreciate the links, and had already been following your description of the Trigger Lite.

Have you or your friend had a chance to shoot your AXRs with it installed?

Any spare parts I should get?  I am not familiar with the AUG platform, having never owned one, and do not know if there are parts which are easily lost or bent during cleaning and reassembly.

I tend to go overboard on things so I'll spare you "MY" opinion.

Check out the AUG Factory Recommended Small Spare Parts Kit  (15 items that are most prone to wear and breakage)
It contains most of the critical components of the bolt and firing pin.

Good choice on the mid-length rail. I may purchase one for mine. The std. length rail on mine is at it's limit with an Eotech 512 and YHM buis.

jbd3, thank you, that is the sort of thing I was looking for.  The small parts and springs in particular I seem to be good at loosing.

Pete is great to deal with. Very informative and he ships fast.
There were also some small parts kits on GB recently. Don't know if they're still there.

ETA: None of the parts for the AUG are cheap. But if you look around, you may find a deal.

Not yet Planing on going out when it cools off a bit.  I will let you all know how things work out as soon as I get back out to the range.  I wish it was like old times were I could drive 4 miles out in to the desert and go shooting...Now i have to drive 45 minutes to get to the closest gun range
