I tried to disassenble my STG-556 today and need some help.  I cannot get the receiver to come aprt from the stock.  I got the butt cap off and the barrel out but no matter what I try, I cannot get the reciever to come out of the stock.  The manual makes it seem simple but is there something that I am missing?

I struggled at first too, is the trigger pulled (decocked so to speak) and the safety on (white dot showing)?? And then it takes a good tug to pull the receiver from the stock set when its new. As the manual states: point the barrel down and pull the stock back and away.

Are you moving the takedown latch before trying to remove the receiver from the stock? It can be pretty tight the first few times. To make it easier I place the STG muzzle-down onto carpet then press down on the buttpad to relieve pressure on the takedown latch before trying to move it. HTH, keep us posted!...

It gets easier to take apart after its been done a few times. Mine felt like it was glued together the first couple of times.

If the takedown latch isn't COMPLETELY pushed to the side the receiver will not budge and if the latch is tight as mine sure was you may think you have it all the way but don't.
