Really wanting one of these (or an MSAR STG-556) but I read the thread about the guys having breakage and light primer strikes.

FN has a good rep, so what do you guys think?  Is the MSAR a better investment?  The appeal of the FS2000 is the STANAG mags.

Thanks!

Well, my FS2000 is in the low 5000's, round count about the same now, and while there have been issues, FN took care of them promptly. The first time around they tossed in a hat, a t-shirt, and a bunch of other stuff.

Light primer strikes: I really only had this issue with CCI #41 primers that were not seated to depth, and one batch of PPU. They sent another trigger pack just to be sure. M855, Wolf, S&B, and everything else were non-events.

Charging handle: The pivoty thingy broke, but the FS was being handled by a Marine at the time. No offense, but they're experts at breaking stuff. Replaced promptly too, all postage paid. It didn't affect operation, and I ran it in matches and other stuff with no issues for a while before I got around to sending it in.

General reliability: Like any machine, it has its quirks. If you can afford all, buy all and pick and choose, but for everything I got, I am pretty happy with the thing.

Like ARs, you'll have trouble seating the mag to the point that the retention engages when you try to stuff a full mag into it, and not seating the mag all the way can cause stovepipes and other feeding issues, just like the AR. That's the only way I have been able to mess it up.

Really, my biggest complaint is that their cleaning kit's chamber brush came apart after a year, and it was missing the swab thing to push through the barrel.
