Went out to the range again 7/10 for 3 or 4 hours temps in the 80's- xero was on the whole time - 19 strings of 5ea. Battery was in the 70-75% when I got home so battery life appears to be temp sensitive... While there I also noticed my Shotview seems to have been upgraded to build 52 v1.2.1- now when adding a comment, it automatically opens the keyboard and puts the cursor in the note box... and the session list looks different ??? ... but still no group session delete. |

Anyone have problems after updating to SW 3.32? Had multiple failure to read error messages today and it even triggered from the neighbor's shots and gave a reading around 500fps on 2 occasions. The unit would pick up 2-3 shots before throwing the failure to read message and became inoperable. I'd reset everything in a new series and it would work for a a few shots, then throw the same error message. Never had a problem with the Garmin before this. eta- set garmin a message about the issue. We'll see what they say. |

Garmin CS got back to me with this message: Thank you for contacting us regarding your inquiry. How far away was the nearest shooter when the device was trying to record their shots? I believe the "blinking" you are seeing after a shot is recorded is the down range mode that was added with SW 3.32. Please check and disable this feature which is found in (Settings >> PRO Settings >> Down Range Mode). Please test again with down range mode disabled to see if you are experiencing the same issues. If you are still facing the same issues, try moving as far away as possible from other shooters. I let them know the labradar wasn't picking up the neighbor's shots and sent them the below pic. I really think the problem has to do with the last SW update. Didn't have any problem last time we used the Garmin on this same pistol range... the LR was acting up though. That must have been user error because it worked fine this time as long as it was set on Level 1 Trigger mode. Attached File |

Garmin responded again to the failure to read issue. The unit needs 20 yds to get an accurate reading on the projectile. We were at 15 yds when having the issues. They suggested elevating the Garmin closer to the pistol and even aligning it to the side (like Labradar suggests) to get the bullet to travel in the cone of the radar signal longer when shooting at a closer distance than 20 yds. On the previous trip to the range, we used the Garmin at the 20 yd line and there was no failure to read problems. Guess I'll have to mess around with placement of the unit using a full size tripod next time at shorter distances. At least the LR worked without any problems this time. |

I used my Xero to chrono multiple 38/357 loads out of several revolvers for the first time yesterday. This device is worth the money IMO. I only had one failure to read out of 95 rounds. It is easy to use, and it synced to my phone without issues. As a hand loader, this makes the entire process more enjoyable, and it's time efficient. It is a game changer for me. | One thing I'd like to see is the ability to initiate a shot string from my phone. It would be easier to enter the data, name the string and start the session using my phone than to use the buttons on top of the device and then going in after the fact to edit the load data.... |

Used mine just yesterday, chrono’d some of my dad’s hunting stuff that he wanted to check his zero on. Then I chrono’d some .308 surplus in a AR10 type, 16” barrel, and found to my amazement that the “weak” 1974-75 era OFV surplus was actually faster than either South African R1M1 or Santa Barbara (Spain) surplus. Not at all what I expected. I always have to turn the gas up with the OFV on FAL’s, and it shoots softer in G3’s as well. Never expected it would be faster. Should all be similar projectile weights, I may need to research that more. Still love how easy the Xero is to use, and how long the battery lasts. Great little instrument. |

Had an odd first with the Garmin today. Had fired about 6 strings through my 6.5CM and 1 through my .243 Win with no problems. On the second string through the .243 the screen would act like it does when you fire a shot, but then it would come back up with no reading. It was in the same spot on the bench through out all shooting so I was kind of puzzled at what was going on. After the 5th round not recording this popped up on the screen Attached File This is where it was sitting in relation to the rifle. After the first shot I lowered the bipod legs down thinking they might have interfered with the capture, but the no reading continued until the message popped up. (I was shooting off a rest. The bipod is for coyote hunting and I am too lazy to take it off for bench work  )Attached File I moved the Garmin a bit further away from the rifle and it started capturing shots again. Not sure what changed in that session. Anybody else ever get that message? |

One shooting full-auto and the other shooting as fast as he could pull the trigger. Perhaps you were getting some beam distortion from the rifle bipod? |

Thank you to those PM’ing me. There’s a few places offering $100 off currently bringing the price to $499. True Shot has bundle deals in the $550 range that include the Garmin chrono as well as 500 rounds of 9mm or 200 rounds of 223. If you take out the cost of ammo then the price of the Garmin is around $450. True shot ammo Garmin bundle deal It’s early and I’m hoping to see some other deals or steeper discounts. MidwayUSA also has refurb units that come with a warranty but with these new discounts it’s only another $10 savings so not worth it. |
